Exorcised

Finally, the ghost of yesteryear had been put to rest I hope. It seems like no matter how old a woman is she still needs the occasional reassurances of love.

Char and I had a nice talk last Sunday afternoon. The quiet spot by riverside and the cool gentle breeze helped calmed her in the end. It seems like Char was going through a bad patch with her guy. Her guy seems to have neglected her while concentrating on his job. At the same time, their relationship doesn’t seem to be heading towards any direction too.

As fate would have it, I turned up at this time. Emotionally drained, Char thought that she could seek solace in me. I had the foresight to ask her best friend R along for this talk. R helped calm her down a little and offered solutions to Char’s problem. I just listened and told her that it is impossible between the two of us given the current conditions. Some sobs and makeup ruined moments later; our friendship was sealed and preserved with a hug.

What I learnt from this whole episode is, women still need emotional support in the end. No matter how old she is or how financially stable she is, every woman would still want a guy to care for her. Someone she could trust and turn to whenever she is upset.

Guess it’s time for some chocolates to be sent over to M.

Emotions? Bloody stuff.
